Vadsana K. Smith, NP

Board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in gastroenterology, hepatology, and preventive digestive care.

Vadsana K. Smith is a board-certified nurse practitioner with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Graceland University and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and has been a nurse practitioner since 2005.

With extensive clinical experience in gastroenterology and hepatology, Ms. Smith also brings a background in family medicine, physiatry, rehab and clinical research, having served as a sub-investigator in multiple studies. She is especially passionate about managing patients with obesity, metabolic-dysfunction associated steatohepatitis (formerly known as fatty liver disease), inflammatory bowel disease, acute and chronic liver disease, pancreatitis, and a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. In addition, she performs hemorrhoid banding procedures and strongly advocates for preventive colorectal cancer screenings.

Her practice spans outpatient, inpatient, and telemedicine care, and she is committed to a patient-centered philosophy: empowering patients to take an active role in their health to achieve better outcomes and greater satisfaction.

Outside of her professional work, Ms. Smith and her husband are enjoying their new chapter as empty nesters with 3 daughters attending college. They spend their free time traveling, playing pickleball, and caring for their two Boston terriers.
